@1:16 PM

Created a quiz some time back on facebook after wee keat persistently urge me to do so. He wanted to prove that he knew me well, so I created a not-so-easy quiz and invited only him to take it. Unexpectedly, other friends, some whom I'm not very close to, took the quiz too and most of them fail, quite badly.

I'm not surprised at all though. On the one hand, I do not reveal myself much to the people around me. On the other hand, certain qns reflect incidents which took part in different phases of my life and if you're not there with me at that point in time, you most probably would not know the answer.

I hv no idea if anyone would be interested to know the story behind each qns, but i've decided to elaborate on the ans below, at least for my own keepsake.

If you haven't take this quiz, you can attempt it at:

QUIZ

1) My name is given by my
a) Dad and Mum
b) Grandpa
c) Grandpa and Dad
d) Dad
Veronica was given by my daddy, no reason in particular. Leong is, of course, my surname. Mei Ting (美婷) was given by my grandpa, who consulted some feng shui master and tabulated the "match-ness" of my name (笔画) against my date of birth(生辰八字). Anything more chim than that, I do not know. Whether my name gives me prosperity in my life, I do not know as well. All I know is that I like my name cause it sounds very feminine. =)

2) My childhood dream job was to be a
a) Teacher
b) Air Stewardess
c) Pet shop owner
d) Doctor
Not many people got this correct, those who got it right, I believed they just made a lucky guess. When I was young, my dad frequently took the family to Changi Airport (I loveeeeeeeeed those fish tanks back then!!). There, SIA girls were introduced to me and I thought that they were the prettiest girls in singapore! I even bugged my mum to buy the mini SIA uniform for me and I loved wearing it to changi airport =D If I have a chance, I hope that I can fly with SIA after I graduate and get to see more of this world (that is if SIA chooses me).

Being a teacher was my next dream job but it wasn't for long. Then, I realised my love for animals and I wanted to open a pet shop. After watching too much tv, I wanted to be a career woman working in Shenton Way on the top-most level of the highest building. I've never really wanted to be a doctor until I was older.

3) I would really like to be a
a) Air stewardess
b) Dermatologist
c) Researcher
d) Actress
Surprisingly, quite a number of friends got this qns right! At around JC age, I was very fascinated by how different people have different skin quality and the different usage of the various skin care products. Also, I realised how women are madly into the skincare and cosmetics industry and I know this field had immense potential. This became one of my current interest (besides food, animals and travel) and I really really want to be a dermatologist, although I know that it's highly impossible.

4) I have done all of the below except
a) Boutique assistant
b) Image consultant
c) Promoter
d) Food seller
Most people chose image consultant, but i really was one before!! But for a week only! lol! It was the most stupid job I've done and the company has the stupidest marketing strategy. Even low-paying jobs like food seller (at Home Team NS & primary schools), tiger beer promoter (oh yes for 2 days for CNY) or cashier are much more enjoyable than that Image Consultant job. Anyway, I've never sell clothes before even though I really want to try it.

5) Which sports have I not tried before?
a) Cheerleading
b) Wushu
c) Dragonboating
d) Floorball
e) Hockey
No one chose Cheerleading cos somehow everyone knows that I'm a cheerleader. Wushu was done in secondary school. Dragonboating and hockey in JC. Floorball, nope, not yet.

6) What do I like to do when I'm happy?
a) Sing!
b) Shop!
c) Eat!
d) Movie!
ALOT of people chose sing and shop. The fact is I eat when I'm enjoying myself, like at friends and family gatherings, parties, relaxing at home. When I complete something, like an assignment, project or cheer competition or performance, I reward myself by eating my favourite food.

7) What do I usually do when I'm sad/stressed?
a) Call Wee Keat
b) Eat
c) Sleep
d) Cry
Most people chose call wee keat and eat. And if I'm not mistaken, nobody chose cry. Probably I dont look like the kind who cry easily, but, I cry to myself quite frequently when I'm upset. I cry in the showers, cry before I go to sleep, cry when I'm alone in my room. I usually feel better after crying. And NO, i dont eat when i'm sad, i usually dont have the appetite. That's why I lose weight when I'm stressed (exams, cheer competition) and gain weight when I'm happy! Calling wee keat is an everyday thing la. Happy, sad, angry, nothing to do i'll call him.

8) I'm extremely pissed off by
a) Crowded places
b) Tailgating
c) Menstration
d) All of the above
This is a brainless qns and everyone got this right. I hate crowded places and having to weave thru the crowd. I hate taking MRT and buses, esp when it's crowded, becos I dont like people to accidentally brush against me. I hate drivers who tailgate and highbeam, not only at me but at other drivers as well. I find that extremely rude. It doesnt mean that the whole world have to give in to you when you're in a hurry. I almost always lose my temper and break down when I'm menstrating. My hormones always go crazy during this period and I have difficulty controlling my emotions. I hate how I feel during this period.

9) My first overseas trip without my parents is to
a) Indonesia
b) Malaysia
c) Taiwan
d) Thailand
None of my friends got this right. Most chose M'sia or Tw. The first trip I went without my parents was with Seraphina to her house in Indonesia for a week. There, Sera and her godparents took very good care of me and brought me around Jarkata. I saw for myself how backwards Indo was and the huge financial gap between the rich and the poor. However, it was an enjoyable trip overall. I felt that I was very brave. Wahahah! Then, I went to Tw with kes and vernise after 'A' level. We planned the whole itinery and booked everything ourselves. damn proud of our achievements. Next was Thailand trip with cheer people. M'sia was with wee keat to Redang. But I missed travelling with my family. Hope that the next one will be soon!

10) I would really love to
a) have my own car
b) get married
c) visit maldives
d) have my own house
This was quite difficult too. I hope to have my own car but that is if I am financially stable. I dont wish to get married, yet. In a few more years maybe. I wanna visit maldives, a lot a lot. That place is Heaven on Earth. But what I wish for most, would be to have my own house, be my own interior designer, have my own privacy, do my own things, have the freedom to live my own life.

i wanna take a walk around botanical gardens.

i wanna go jet skiing.
not fulfiled...
i want to go REDANG!
going soon!! =D
i cant wait for my birthday surprise.
waiting =P
i want to have lots and lots of time to plan for dear's birthday.
shh..secret :)
i want to bake.
i baked today!
i want to sit-at-home-and-rot-all-day.
haha! almost everyday!
i want to exercise.
yes i did =)

Baking was fun today. one of the easiest recipes i've tried so far. got it here:
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cream-Puff-Shells/Detail.aspx

pictures below!

ready for baking!
recipe says just nice for 12 LARGE puffs, and indeed, i made 12 LARGE puffs, used up all the batter. but i think my oven is too small for 12 LARGE puffs, they're all squeezing for space.

fat puffs
fatter puffs

very fat puffs and golden brown =)

done!

the squashed-up one on the left was a result of my poking and digging

although recipe says heat for 40 minutes, i personally heated the puffs longer than that becos the inside still remained slightly soggy. But do be careful not to burn the outside of the puffs. However, the end-product is a hard, dry and golden brown exterior, soft interior, hollow (tap it and listen) and smells niceeeeee :)

you can fill them with anything!! cream, custard, cheese, ice cream, egg mayo, tuna spread, sardine, blah blah! so many!

SO, why did i bake? cos wee keat took his TP test today. and i wanna surprise him after his test. i knew he'll pass! congrats dear!
