@1:41 AM

Mediacorp has changed so much! Except for the bigbig mediacorp sign outside the station, everything looks nicer now than compared to many years ago. When I was in primary school watching liang si mei and PSC night live at mediacorp, they had no fancy lights, no complicating cameras, and no prettily-designed stage. Now, it's really

"AIYO! ZHEN DE SHI SHANG NAO JIN AHHH!!"

SO MANY equipment, SO MANY lights/sounds/screens/cameras to control, SO MANY people involved, SO MANY MONEY SPENT!! Everything up by many levels, including the quality of the shows we have today.

I was rooting for iFLY Prodigy for the O.M.G finals on thursday night. Overall, it was a good show and everyone present could see the tremendous efforts mediacorp and the challengers put in for the show. iFLY didn't win, as expected actually, but that wasn't important. The fact is that they have introduced cheerleading/gymnast to Singapore, which is a great step to improve the profile of the sports locally. We seriously need more local talent, and hope people will be inspired/curious to know more about cheerleading after watching iFLY.

O.M.G aside. Before going mediacorp, I went shopping with spectrum guys for BBQ stuff and I SIMP at sheng shiong. OMGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!

After the show, we went ah lian for supper. When I reach hall after supper, I had to bathe, rush my p&g application stuff, and check out travelling directions for the next day. Because the next day I had a P&G reasoning test in the morning, and a Nee Soon Swamp Fieldtrip(!!!) in the afternoon. The p&g stuff almost killed me. I slept at 6 a.m. because of that, and woke up at 7 a.m. as I had to be at Novena Sq by 10 a.m. I also packed 2 sets of clothes to prepare for the fieldtrip, and a change of shoes. Da bao xiao bao to novena, so unglam(!) when I am in my formal attire.

I slept all the way on 199 & train to novena. To me, travelling on public transport always induces me to sleep. Anyways, I am confused. Is VeloCity the same as Novena Sq? On the map they're different buildings but a man who I approached for directions said otherwise. Weird.

So, the reasoning test turned out okay (hopefully!) and I pray that p&g will contact me for an interview!!

After the test, I changed out of formal wear and heels into my fieldtrip attire. Then, I went to look for the bus stop that would bring me to my next destination. It was supposed to be of walking distance from Novena sq, according to the map.

"Find thomson road, cross the road, walk in the direction of the traffic to the nearest bus stop, wait for bus 980."

Found it! So proud of myself. Took bus 980 from thomson road to upper thomson road. So lucky that the two places I had to go is connected by one bus service. Alighted at upp. thomson road (bef yck road) with the help of the bus driver. Would hv miss the stop without him. Went behind the buildings at the bus stop to look for Causarina Road (nv heard of this road before!), then headed to Causarina carpark which was the meeting place. SO PROUD OF MYSELF FOR FINDING THIS ULU PLACE!

But actually I was damn early cos the meeting time was 2.30 p.m and I reached at 12.30 p.m. Found a nice japanese restaurant nearby which was operated by a polite & friendly japanese couple, to have lunch and study there while waiting for time to pass. (cos it's the only stall there with aircon, the food was damn ex though!) Really got to say that I spent the 2 hours well :)

At 2.30 p.m, I met Dr Cai Yixiong from Nparks, a few officers from Nparks and my coursemates for the fieldtrip. One word to sum the field trip - AMAZING! Singapore's forest and swamp actually still has quite a diverse range of plants, animals and insects living in them, and everyone MUST understand the importance of conservation to protect our Earth, and to pass on this value to the next generation! We has lots of fun (dirrrty fun) scooping up swamp waters to search for shrimps and crabs, which was the main focus of our FYP. Dr Cai and the offiers were very helpful in explaining and demostrating to us how to find the animals, and how to identify each animal/species. Heavy rain, dirty boots, wet jeans, sweaty faces - they were nothing compared to the damage humans inflicted on Mother Nature.

Let's all do our little parts in tiny steps to conserve nature, for a better tomorrow! :):)

Actually, I was quite lucky that I brought 2 sets of clothes along with me. Because while studying at the japanese restaurant, I received an sms telling me to go for a focus group which I had signed up for. And lucky I am free at night after the field trip, because the focus group is at 7.30 p.m. And lucky I asked Siyi to sign up with me that time, so I have someone to accompany me on the way back to NTU.

So, after the awesome field trip, I changed into my casual wear and rushed to Lavander for the focus group. If I didn't bring another set of clothes along, or if I brought like hall attire along to change into, I think I would be chased away from the focus group.

Anway, the focus group is quite interesting. There were 8 people, all NTU undergrads, from 2 different courses (SPMS and SBS), and different years. We were asked to give opinions on NTU (everything from our feelings to the facilities in NTU) and then compare NTU to other tertiary institutions from Singapore and abroad. I guess after hearing what others said, and judging from the comments I gave, NTU needs a long time and effort to change its image and improve in many areas. But, I still love NTU. Flaws are what makes you perfect, no?

Just to clarify, I didn't attend this focus group cos I wanted to give others a piece of my mind. It's becuase of the moolah! $60 for 2 hours, damn good deal right?? Of course go lah! :D
